Experience the West Coast of Western Australia on an 18-day premium small-group 4WD adventure from Broome to Perth, exploring the Coral Coast, Karijini National Park and the remote landscapes of the Pilbara.
Travel in modern air-conditioned 4WD vehicles with a maximum of 12 guests, enjoying a mix of camping, safari tents, hotels and station-style accommodation. Discover dramatic gorges, waterfalls, beaches, reefs and outback landscapes, with highlights including Ningaloo Reef, whale shark experiences, Monkey Mia, Dirk Hartog Island, Kalbarri, the Pinnacles and more.
Along the way, enjoy authentic experiences including astronomy and Dreaming tours, Aboriginal experiences, wildlife encounters, cruises, mine tours and Australian campfire meals.
Day by day
Days 1–5
Broome to Karijini National Park
Travel from Broome towards Karijini National Park through the remote Pilbara. Visit Eighty Mile Beach, Port Smith Lagoon, Great Sandy Desert, Barn Hill Station, Cape Keraudren and the Rabbit Proof Fence. Continue through Port Hedland, Marble Bar and the Mt Whaleback Mine. Explore Karijini National Park including Dales Gorge, Circular Pool, Fortescue Falls, Fern Pool, Weano Gorge, Oxer Gorge, Joffre Falls, Joffre Gorge, Red Gorge, Handrail Pool, Hancock Gorge and Kermit Pool. Other locations include the Hamersley Range, Mt Bruce, Mt Nameless, Tom Price and Millstream-Chichester National Park. Enjoy an Astronomy Tour and experience the spectacular Pilbara landscape.
Days 6–11
Exmouth to Shark Bay
Explore the Coral Coast and Ningaloo region, including the Burrup Peninsula, Hearsons Cove, North Kurrajong, Kurrajong, Ned's Camp, Mesa, Tulki, North Mandu and Bullara Station. Enjoy the Ningaloo Reef experience, with opportunities for whale shark and manta ray sightings. Explore Cape Range National Park, Yardie Creek, Turquoise Bay, Charles Knife Gorge, Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, Mandu Mandu Gorge, Yardie Gorge and the Badjirrajirra Loop Trail. Continue through Coral Bay, Carnarvon, Point Quobba, Quobba Blow Holes, Quobba Hot Tub and the Carnarvon Space Station before visiting Hamelin Pool stromatolites, Monkey Mia and Shark Bay. Experience the Didgeridoo Dreaming Night Tour and Dolphin Feeding, followed by further exploration around Denham, Skipjack Point and Eagle Bluff.
Days 12–16
Kalbarri to Perth
Explore Steep Point, Zuytdorp Cliffs, Dirk Hartog Island and Shell Beach before continuing to Kalbarri. Visit the Kalbarri Skywalk, Murchison River, Chinamans Beach, Hawks Head Lookout, Murchison Gorge, Nature's Window, Z Bend Gorge, Red Bluff, Pot Alley, Island Rock, Natural Bridge and the Ocean Gorges. Continue south through the Coral Coast, visiting Hutt Lagoon, Geraldton, Jurien Bay, Lake Thetis, Sandy Cape, Dongara, Lancelin and the Pinnacles Desert. Optional activities include Rainbow Jungle and Lancelin Sand Dunes/Sand Boarding. Continue to Yanchep National Park before finishing in Perth.
Day 17
Arrive in Perth & Explore
Continue to Perth and enjoy time exploring the city at a relaxed pace. Take the opportunity to unwind after the adventure, explore local sights, shops and restaurants, or simply enjoy some free time.
Day 18
Final Day in Perth
Enjoy a final morning in Perth with free time to explore before packing up and concluding the 18-day West Coast Wanderlust adventure.
